The material is costume material but it is better than the quality of the party city or halloween store costumes. (Tried the party city navy girl costume and it was literally see through and did not cover my butt)
But you still have to be gentle with it.
I highly recommend buying this as there is nothing in the dress that makes it flare (like in the picture). I also suggest you buy a good strapless bra because you can see the the bra straps (not cute).
